In the domestic market, there is chaos in the headphone industry. There's a phenomenon in the headphone industry where well-known brands with good sound quality have high prices, creating a monopoly. Some brands focus only on aesthetics, advertising, and set unrealistically high prices, without paying attention to actual sound quality and performance. Everyone has inherent taste, and we believe that everyone wants to have good things because everyone has the right to pursue happiness, and the love for high-quality music is no exception. The prices of ordinary headphones are generally affordable for the general public, but high-end professional-grade headphones are also very expensive. Even with slightly better configurations, the prices are beyond the reach of most consumers with average economic means.
Chinese people tend to prefer foreign products, and this is not their fault. It's because our own products are not good enough. The current state of the domestic headphone market is far from satisfactory for audiophiles. Why can't we create the best products for our own people? Thus, when four practical-minded audiophiles turned their opinions into actions, the Wimlim Weileng brand was born, aiming to defend higher sound quality.
Childhood memories, accompanied by growth
Brand/Product Director Zhang Yifan is from the post-80s generation and is the youngest member of the team. From a young age, he was a boy with dreams of music, a true music enthusiast. He grew up listening to songs from the BEYOND band, the Black Panther band, the Little Tigers, Zhang Xueyou, and Andy Lau. That era was a time of flourishing diversity among singers and the pinnacle of pop music. It produced numerous classic songs. When listening to those classic songs, memories instantly return to the joyful times of childhood. From an enthusiast's perspective, Zhang Yifan hoped to change the impression of affordable headphones in China. He wanted people to believe that headphones costing less than a thousand yuan can also deliver sound quality. As a craftsman, he insisted on prioritizing quality and experience. Only by creating quality products with a clear conscience and pursuing perfection in every detail that users cannot see can we conquer everyone's ears.
Dedicated work, never forgetting the initial intention
Quality Engineer Lao Jiang and Zhang Yifan were college classmates. After graduating from college, they worked as QE and PE engineers at Foxconn and Lingguang Group, responsible for quality control of the entire production process from samples to mass production. During this time, Lao Jiang accumulated a wealth of valuable work experience. Lao Jiang is a workaholic. Each product he works on involves more than 700 test items, and every manufacturing standard is polished repeatedly. No sample is created without dozens of revisions. It's impossible to pass inspection without meeting his standards. Apart from work, his only hobby is music. After a tiring day, he lies in bed with his beloved headphones, immersing himself in the ocean of music. The influence of time and age has turned him into a dedicated music enthusiast.
The dream of music, with a twist
Sound Engineer Lao Wu is proficient in various musical instruments such as the flute, harmonica, and drums. He even played the guitar for a few years in pursuit of music. During college, Lao Wu chose electronic engineering as his major. He started experimenting with sound systems, amplifiers, and spent a year delivering milk to save money to buy a few Wharfedale speakers. After college, Lao Wu worked at Soundking for eight years, starting from testing individual speaker units and meticulously controlling product quality throughout the entire production process, from samples to mass production. This dedication runs counter to the fast-paced pursuit of the internet era. R&D speed is not the top priority; sound quality is. He sought apprenticeship under top domestic audio engineers and studied at the California Music Institute in the United States for two years, achieving a new level of theoretical knowledge. As a craftsman, his ultimate goal was sound quality. He made significant contributions to the design of audio projects for companies like YAMAHA, JBL, and PIONEER.
Hands-on practice for innovation
Electrical Engineer Lao Zhang got his first radio after junior high and became fascinated with electronics, constantly seeking information to understand radios thoroughly. His interest in electronics grew even more during high school, where he helped repair televisions and small appliances for neighbors. In high school, he became a devoted fan of Hong Kong and Taiwan pop music during a time when such music was at its peak. He saved money by cutting down on expenses from his weekly allowance of 10 yuan to buy a second-hand portable cassette player from a classmate. He collected his favorite cassette tapes and embarked on the path of an audiophile. After entering college, Lao Zhang naturally chose electronics as his major. He began making amplifiers and speakers with his classmates and built his own crossovers. Over the years, Lao Zhang has developed a down-to-earth technical style, rejecting impatience and valuing practicality. He is committed to continuous exploration, accumulation, and courage to take on new challenges. Thanks to the presence of this spirit, Weileng's core brand spirit and brand culture have been forged. With this philosophy, the first product finally emerged after hundreds of rounds of refining and fine-tuning over two years.
However, sound quality can always be improved, and there's no end to it. Members of the Weileng brand team must maintain a persistent mindset, continue to explore, accumulate knowledge, and have the courage to climb new heights to create classics. Through continuous efforts, it is believed that the Weileng brand will provide consumers with even higher-quality products in the near future.
