Brand/Product Director - Zhang Yifan
Zhang Gong, born in the 1980s, is also the youngest member of the team. He has been a young man with a dream of music since childhood and is a true music enthusiast. He grew up listening to songs by BEYOND, the Black Panther Band, Xiao Hu Dui, Jacky Cheung, and Andy Lau. It was an era when a variety of singers thrived, and it was the heyday of pop music. That era gave birth to numerous classic songs, and whenever he hears those iconic songs, his memories immediately return to the joyful moments of his childhood.
During his college years, Zhang Gong initially chose industrial design as his major and later taught himself marketing. After graduating, he has been working in the field of exterior and structural design of consumer products for over a decade. He had previously designed products for Lao Tang's company.
Zhang Gong mentioned that as people's living standards continue to improve, they are increasingly focused on the quality of life. This emphasis on quality is not only reflected in daily life but also in people's product choices. In the past, factors such as product functionality, quality, price, and after-sales service were the main considerations for consumers when making purchases. However, nowadays, the appearance of a product plays an increasingly significant role in people's purchasing decisions. If the product's exterior design isn't done well, it directly affects the product's sales in the market. Product exterior design is not merely about making products look beautiful; it requires designers to consider the various factors that influence it. Product aesthetics should not only satisfy people's basic aesthetic needs but also fulfill their emotional desires. Designers typically consider aspects such as form, color, materials, and user psychology. Through emotionally-driven design innovation, they give products a unique appeal that resonates emotionally with people.
Zhang Gong explained that product exterior design isn't just about making something visually appealing; it also needs to be relatively easy to implement within existing manufacturing processes. Designers need to have a deep understanding of the product's performance, materials, processes, and manufacturing. During the design process, they must also consider ways to reduce production difficulties, improve production efficiency, and ensure a high yield of quality products. Therefore, good product design translates into a tangible competitive advantage in the market.
Zhang Gong mentioned that he had always worked hard to improve his skills and had a long-standing desire to establish a headphone brand. Before that, he had already founded a student desk lamp brand called "Tongque." To enhance his overall capabilities, he extensively read books on product sales and design. After years of accumulation, he now has unique concepts regarding product design and sales.
With his entrepreneurial dream and a desire to find like-minded partners, he communicated and carefully considered working with other team members. This led to the establishment of the brand "Wimlim."
Zhang Gong stressed that all four members of the team are pragmatic and have their respective strengths. They are committed to pursuing their entrepreneurial dreams and share the same aspirations and business philosophy. They maintain a positive and proactive attitude, are unafraid of difficulties, and have the courage to explore and strive for new heights. It is this spirit that ultimately brought them together, and it forms the core brand spirit and culture of their brand. He firmly believes that through continuous effort, the Wimlim brand will soon bring consumers even higher-quality products.
